Josephina van de Water (b. 1985, Netherlands) is a visual artist living and working in Antwerp, Belgium. In 2020, she obtained an MA degree in photography at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, Antwerp. Her artistic approach is based on meticulous research, which focuses on investigating indefinable sociological and political problems, visualizing the hidden structures of power and authority. Her projects are reminiscent of children's stories and films; however, the topics covered in her work are anything but childish trying to make these hidden structures more transparent. She uses a variety of media in her multidisciplinary projects, including photography, video, writing, and paper sculptures. Both her research and the various works come together in a film and/or installation.
